Al D’Agosto, the secretary for UNICO National District II, presented a certificate of achievement that was awarded to Southington Unico by UNICO National in recognition of being selected as the 2024-2025 third place model chapter in the nation. To put that in perspective, there are 100 chapters of UNICO throughout the United States, and over 5,000 members. The award is based upon what you provide to the community in terms of donations, scholarships awarded, and activities through community events. It is based on a point system, and a chapter must receive at least 1500 points to qualify. Southington UNICO had 3,098 points. That qualified the chapter as the third best in the nation. To understand how good Southington chapter is, this is only the first time that we submitted an application for the award! We should all be very proud of the job we are doing in living up to our motto of “service above self”.
